In this meadow in 1784, James Sadler, a local pastry chef and chemist completed the first ascent in a balloon by an Englishman. He ascended to about 3600 feet.

Gum bichromate is a simple and old photographic process, but it can be tricky.

It works by the same process that old stickers that have been exposed to sunlight get hard to remove. You can suspend whatever pigment you like in the gum arabic solution.
