It is a far more enriching experience to bake and eat something homemade than to buy and eat something even if the bought item is just as good or better.

The word Eudaimonia is made up of the Greek words for ‘good’ and ‘spirit’ and captures an idea of a positive state of being. Flourishing.
So today we baked a cake. We used James Martin’s recipe for Honey cake but substituted dark brown for the light brown sugar called for in the recipe.
We needed to do something that wasn’t just productive or nutritious but to improve how we feel. It’s a good cake and making it was good for our spirit.
