Failure you can eat
This is the first loaf of sourdough with my new starter. It was looking great up until I tried to dump it out of the wooden proving basket that should give the loaf a perfect form with a simple and elegant spiral pattern.
The top of the loaf stuck to the bottom of the basket. My loaf was ruined - a failure, or at least a kind of failure.
It was the kind of failure that you can eat. Not exactly the loaf I had in mind, but we had it for lunch today. It was still a loaf of bread and it tasted pretty good.
